Ivan Brice AIA
Ivan Brice AIA has over thirty years of professional experience on a wide range of private and public buildings. He founded the firm of Ivan Brice Architecture in 1991 and has since has earned a special reputation in restoration, renovation and adaptive re-use. He was selected by the NYC Office of Management and Budget to co-author the procedures for repairing and maintaining NYC’s public buildings, and recently oversaw the world’s largest window replacement project at Co-op City in the Bronx. He has been responsible for a $22 M term contract for NYC school renovation projects, and worked extensively at Riverdale Country School. Prior to forming his own firm, Ivan served as project director for a number of successfully executed municipal projects, including a $7M streetscape project for the historic downtown of Stamford, Connecticut. Ivan Brice holds a Master’s of Architecture from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Illinois, Chicago with Design Distinction. He has completed post-graduate courses in Construction Administration, Building Restoration, Green Roofs, and School Planning. Lorrin Wong RA has 25 years of experience in architectural firms and has worked with Ivan Brice Architecture for the past 14 years. Mr. Wong served as our project architect for PS 21, a $5.5 million school renovation in the Bronx. He has prepared the contract drawings for various window replacement and exterior restoration projects and served as our project architect in preparation of restoration drawings for Mundelein Hall at Riverdale Country School. He completed interior renovations to the Jadwin Gymnasium Halftime Rooms at Princeton University. He has extensive experience in curtain wall design and restoration, preparing construction shop drawings for the curtain walls at Manhattan College’s Cardinal Hayes Library and Tilles Center at the CW Post campus of LI University. He holds both a BA in mathematics from Oberlin and a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University. Mr. Wong is a Registered Architect in New York, New Jersey, and Hawaii and has taught construction documents using AutoCAD at City College and NY School of Interior Design.
Russell Higgins RA is a registered architect in New York who has worked on many of our firm’s recent renovation projects including our school exterior and roofing projects for SCA, from programming thorough design and construction phases. He has a total of 25 years experience in architecture, engineering and construction. Mr. Higgins is adept at writing technical specifications and maintaining quality control in design and construction. He has in-depth knowledge of building technology and extensive on-site construction experience, managing many types of complicated new construction, modernization, restoration, and historic preservation projects. He was employed by Goshow Architects-NYC prior to joining Ivan Brice Architecture, and has worked on the Brookhaven Children’s Science Museum, Offices of the Mayor of NYC, Columbia University Earl Hall and Rutgers University’s Alumni Center. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from City College.
Dionisio Cortes has twenty-five years experience, of which the past 16 have been with Ivan Brice Architecture. Mr. Cortes has prepared specifications for capital improvement projects for NYC School Construction Authority, including PS 39 and PS 21. He has worked on Condition Reports and NYC FISP filings for numerous projects including Roger Morris Apartments and Evergreen Apartments. Mr. Cortes is involved in the preparation of scope reports and technical specifications on all of our projects, recently completing documents for 680 Park Avenue, Twin Parks NE and Tilden Towers in the Bronx. Prior to joining our firm, he designed and monitored construction of commercial and institutional projects throughout Mexico, including community centers built by the National Retired Teachers’ Union. Mr. Cortes graduated from the University of Coahuila with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, holds an Architect’s license in Mexico, and earned the Masters in Fine Arts at Hunter College.
Project Manager / Interior Designer
William Mangold NCIDQ has ten years experience working in our office as a project manager, and six years prior experience in the construction field. He has completed several renovation and landmark restoration projects such as 1409 Albemarle Road, 119 West 24th Street, and 67 Hanson Place, and construction documents for significant projects, including a rooftop addition to landmarked 46 West 95th Street, the total renovation of common service areas at 162 East 80th Street, and major repairs at Valerie Arms in Queens. He has also worked on historic restoration projects in the West Village, Jackson Heights, and Prospect Park Historic Districts. He has prepared the design documents for various renovation projects including building lobbies and office fit-outs. He has worked on adaptive re-use projects including Mundelein Hall at Riverdale Country School, and Bedford Park Senior Multi-Service Center in the NW Bronx. Mr. Mangold has a Bachelor of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design and is a lecturer at Pratt Institute.
Matt Masino has worked with Ivan Brice Architecture for the past seven years and served as construction coordinator at Co-Op City, overseeing the installation of 160,000 windows and doors throughout this Mitchell-Lama complex of 42 high-rise towers and several clusters of townhouses. He serves as senior project manager with Ivan Brice Architecture for FISP façade work and exterior restorations. Prior to coming to our firm, Mr. Masino was Director of Construction and Renovation at Samson Management Company, overseeing all exterior restoration work for hundreds of multi-family rental/investment properties throughout the five boroughs, owned and managed by that company.
Greg Hohmann has a BBA from Baruch College and serves as our office manager and project laison.
